What is All Mice Die?
All Mice Die is a tabletop roleplaying game about survival, legacy, and the cost of building something that lasts. You don't play a hero. You play a House — a lineage of mice fighting to endure through wars, calamities, and the relentless march of generations.
The World
The setting is a low-fantasy realm shaped by recurring disasters called Calamities — catastrophic events that reshape the world, wipe out populations, and force survivors to start again. Each campaign cycle moves through four generations: Survivor, Builder, Preparer, and back to Survivor.
History is written in scars. The Houses that endure define civilization itself.
Houses
A House is your persistent faction — a family, a lineage, a bloodline of mice. Each player controls one House. Houses own resources, hold philosophies, and survive even when their members don't.
You are the Head of House: the strategic mind behind the curtain. You send your Characters out into the world to adventure, gather resources, and shape the future — knowing full well that any of them might not return.
Characters
Characters are the playable adventurers of your House. They have classes, skills, items, and histories. They go on Adventures, face dangers, and may die — permanently.
Characters are replaceable. Your House is not.
Adventures
The game uses a West Marches-style structure. Players submit Adventure Requests proposing missions they want to run. The DM reviews, schedules, and runs them — then records the outcomes that shape the world permanently.
There are no plot rails. The world responds to what Houses do and don't do.
Calamities
Once per generational cycle, a Calamity strikes — a world-shaping disaster that historically kills 50–75% of the population. Calamities can be environmental, political, magical, or existential.
The Houses that survive define what comes next. Everything you build in the Builder and Preparer generations exists to give your House a fighting chance when it arrives.
